About Giving

Investing in Glenelg Country School’s Future

For our community of students, teachers, and alumni, both past and present parents to continue to thrive we ask you to carry forward the generous spirit of the thousands of supporters who have taken us to this point with a financial gift to one of the following areas:

  • Annual Giving
  • Endowment Giving
  • Senior Class Giving
  • Margaret Wesley Birthday Book Fund
  • Memorial and Honorarium Gifts
  • Planned Giving

Contributions made to the funds listed above are fully tax-deductible and acknowledged by an official gift receipt that may be saved for tax purposes. All contributions are gratefully acknowledged in the school's Annual Report.

Ways to Give
Outright Gifts
The Annual Fund is Glenelg Country School’s first philanthropic priority; we ask that every member of the GCS community make their first gift every year to support the Annual Fund. Gifts to the Annual Fund provide the School with the resources needed to meet budgeted expenses, acknowledging that tuition dollars alone cannot cover the true cost of a Glenelg Country education.
Checks, credit cards, and securities are all used to make contributions to GCS on an outright basis.
To make a gift using your Visa or MasterCard via our secure online giving page go to www.glenelg.org/donate.
Or mail a check made payable to Glenelg Country School to:
Glenelg Country School
Development and Alumni Affairs Office
12793 Folly Quarter Road
Ellicott City, MD 21042
Credit Card Gifts
GCS accepts Visa and MasterCard. In order to make a gift using a credit card, you must provide the gift amount, card number, expiration date, security code and name as it appears on the card. The information may be supplied on the giving envelope, over the phone, or online at www.glenelg.org/donate. If you wish to make a gift over time, you can do so online or authorize the Development Office to submit a charge on a specified schedule.
Pledges
If you wish to make a commitment to the Annual Fund, but are not yet ready to make a payment, you may make a pledge. A pledge is a promise to make a specified payment within the Annual Fund year (July 1 – June 30). The Development Office will mail pledge reminder letters during the fund year.
Matching Gifts
Many companies match the charitable gifts made by their employees to Glenelg Country School. Guidelines for matching gifts vary by company; however, generally, you should enclose a matching gift form with your portion completed when the gift is sent to GCS. The Development Office will complete the portion verifying your gift and mail the confirmation to the corporation.
If you are not certain whether your employer will match your gift to GCS, contact your Human Resources Office for eligibility requirements and to obtain a matching gift form.
Gifts of Securities
Gifts of stock are welcomed. Please contact Mr. Chris Shematek at Cobalt Financial Partners, LLC by phone (410) 309-4200 or email chris.shematek@lpl.com. Please inform the Development Office of your impending stock transfer.
Gifts-in-Kind
Gifts-in-kind are contributions of tangible items that the School would otherwise have to purchase. Examples of in-kind gifts donated to Glenelg Country School include: microscopes, printing services, and coffee maker for faculty lounge.
Your gift is sincerely appreciated. Please direct any questions regarding the Annual Fund to Cheryl Neely, Director of Annual Giving at neely@glenelg.org or (410) 531-7337.
Thank you for considering a contribution to the Glenelg Country School.
