As the very foundation of the school's fundraising initiatives, the Annual Fund secures opportunities in areas critical to the learning experience, such as technology upgrades, library resources, and financial aid. In fact, the Annual Fund supports virtually every facet of campus life and makes it possible for students from a variety of backgrounds to benefit from the GCS experience.
Many years of solid growth and a long-standing tradition of educational excellence make Glenelg Country School a recognized leader among independent schools in our area. The strength of our faculty and administration is the key that makes a difference in the lives of our children. Since its founding, Glenelg Country School has had a standing tradition of support from trustees, faculty/staff, alumni, current families, and friends. More than 4,000 regular supporters help us to reach our annual goal of providing excellent programs of diverse and challenging academic and extra-curricular activities.
It is well known that tuition at GCS does not cover the full cost of our students’ education. We are pleased to announce that by the end of the 2006-2007 school, we raised more than $413,000, and we wish to thank the many volunteers, faculty and donors for their gifts of time, talent, and treasure. Their partnership in our advancement efforts truly reflects the spirit of Glenelg Country School’s giving tradition. The Board of Trustees has announced the 2007-2008 Annual Fund goal to be $500,000. Under the banner of “Let’s Make It Happen”, together we all can make it happen. We will need everyone’s support and the Development Team will be working on ways we hope will increase awareness of the importance of financially supporting the School through the Annual Fund.
