    Anna Walsh ’09 has had a fast start to her career in journalism.  After GCS, Anna attended Carnegie Mellon University and graduated with a major in Professional Writing and minor in History.

  • Ellen Moxley ’13 is headed to Spain to study microbes on a Fulbright grant

    Alumna Ellen Moxley ’13 is planning on attending medical school in the future. However, before that happens, she will be headed to Spain, to enjoy paella, drink café con leches, and to study microbes, specifically extremophiles on a Fulbright grant she earned this year.

  • Julia Sheehan ’17 named the Howard County Fan’s Choice Athlete of the Year

    Congratulations to Julia Sheehan ’17 who was recently named the Howard County Fan’s Choice Athlete of the Year for women’s lacrosse. Julia came to GCS as a 3rd grade student and was an active member of our community.  She was an outstanding student and athlete having played Middle School basketball as well as varsity lacrosse and field hockey.

    In the Kitchen with Ed Kernan '98

    Anthony Bourdain? Rachel Ray? No – better, Ed Kernan ’98! There is no doubt that Ed Kernan knows his way around the kitchen. “When I went to college at John Carroll University, I wasn’t the biggest fan of the cafeteria,” Ed states. Shortly after, he was messing around in the dorm kitchen to spice up his meals. It started with very basic dishes like stir fry and late night burgers but with more long nights, and the will to create, his artistic palate and culinary skills grew from there. After college, Ed continued to gravitate towards the food world and decided to go to culinary school – the Art Institute of Houston for culinary arts.
