World's Fair & First Lego League Qualifier

On Saturday, December 1, GCS hosted the annual World’s Fair and First Lego League Maryland Qualifier. The event celebrated the diversity and talent of our school community and provided an opportunity for a festive and dynamic collaboration between students, teachers, staff, and parents.
The First Lego League Maryland Qualifier, which took place in the Upper School Gym, has helped GCS to become a destination for Lego teams from across Maryland.
Guests who attended the World’s Fair enjoyed the student performances, children’s craft activities, a service project showcase, and a delicious international buffet in the colorfully decorated Upper School. SERRV Fair Trade handicraft market afforded guests an opportunity to do some holiday shopping. The proceeds from the World’s Fair help support a water project in Camp Coq, Haiti, a vocational training program in Kumasi, Ghana, and construction of a medical facility in Ntulele, Kenya.
Thank you to the Community Service Club, Spanish Honor Society, and Robotics Teams for making this one-of-a-kind event a reality.
