  • Alumni on the Road, June 28, 2019

On June 28, 2019, GCS made its last stop of the year and joined the Dragon Alumni Community in Baltimore Maryland. Dragon alumni, friends, and family all converged on Urban Axes for the final Glens vs Elgs showdown. The fun evening started with all the participants learning the proper way to execute an axe throw, followed by throwing for bracket seeding, and then the big single elimination tournament. Just like March Madness, tensions and nervousness spiked right from the beginning. With every victory or upset of a higher seed, the crowd got increasingly competitive. After an hour of competition, the championship match was determined, Sam McAuliffe ’12 Glen vs. Dragon alumni friend Dan Baron representing the Elgs. After back and forth bullseyes, Sam McAuliffe ’12 took the win for the Glens! Do not worry if you missed this event, GCS will be returning next year for what is now an annual Glens vs Elgs throw off!
